Betty worked as an intern for me on the HGTV show “Designed to Sell” here in Washington DC.
Betty was a fabulous worker. She is knowledgeable, dependable, and was extremely helpful to me. Her knowledge of home decoration and design made her extremely useful, and I felt completely comfortable handing projects over to her for completion. She has a bright and sunny attitude, and worked very well in a somewhat stressful situation. I very much appreciated her hard work, and am sad to see her go.

This past summer Betty was a godsend to me when I hired her to de-clutter out the closets in my condo.

Betty had heard that I was having a difficult time keeping my apartment orderly and offered her services as an organizer, perhaps also in helping me with some remodeling in my apartment. I had lived there for 15 years, with the original kitchen, no repainting, with a vague plan to fix it up. Betty looked and listened. She gave me an overview plan with the approximate costs, within my budget. Betty worked with me every step of the way, bringing organizing items and cheerfully helping me to get rid of items not needed, recommending items to replace less functional and/or attractive ones, all the time respecting my ideas and my budget. She was very careful in bringing in workers who were honest and pleasant.
I find it so much easier to put things into their proper places, so that I waste less time hunting for them when I again need them. I enjoy just being in my apartment. The work we went through in choosing the exactly right styles of furniture, the exactly right colors for walls and floors, the exactly right placement of my artwork has paid off. The kitchen is a subject by itself. I have always loved to cook, but now I can find utensils in sensible places, in drawers that cooperate with me. I have to bend and reach less because there is better use of space. Beyond this, my kitchen is beautiful. The appliances do not match in brand—I replaced only a dishwasher—but they are black and white. What pulls everything together is the granite countertop—Betty and I looked at many slabs before choosing this—nature’s pattern of black, white, the maple of the cabinets, and deep red. It is the area that has sufficient space to support an open cook book in my little galley kitchen.
I would recommend Betty to anyone who needs help in getting organized and making a home more attractive for living.
